I've been a really big fan of this and the Haunted Souls series and have all of the books. This book, however, was a huge disappointment. I could barely finish it and, in fact, skimmed over a lot of it. For me, it had three major problems: The first was the fact that the author has made Ronan and Tennyson seem so much in love that Ronan would never have been jealous over one kiss and would have absolutely stuck around to let Tennyson explain what happened. That was so contrived. The second was there was no way on earth Tennyson would have for one second thought that Ronan could be guilty of murder. The third problem is that I'm definitely tired of Bertha, Crow and others in their world being bound by "black" magic so they can't help any of the living. That's just too convenient. This a much over used plot device and I wish the author would stop it. It seems to happen every book now. Don't get me wrong, I love Pandora Pine's books. This one was just incredibly misguided. I guess one bad book out of 24 ain't too bad. I certainly will keep reading. However, I'm deleting this one. While I knew in my heart where Ronan stood it was hard seeing him and Ten having to fight so hard for something that I knew he could and would never do. There was just so much at stake in this book. In all of their previous books Ronan and Ten had fought so hard for others and now it was their turn to fight for themselves. Like with each previous book they were not alone, their family of friends there to help.Author Pandora Pine has yet to fail in making each book unique even after 14 books and that's what I love so much about this series, that and the cast of characters I've grown to love over the years.If you haven't started the Cold Case Psychic series these are a must read as well as the spinoff series.
